Inspired by the interaction between vertebrae, SPINE solves age-old hinge limitations.
The spun wire cable at the heart of the SPINE hinge is a mere 0.60mm in diameter and at full tensile strength can hold over 300kg. The dual springs not only provide the pulling power of SPINE, but they allow the articulation of the vertebrae and enable the unique auto-shut mechanism.
The micro injection metal (MiM) hinges flex to fit any face shape, they constantly grip with the lightest of touch and, when lifted from the face, temples shut automatically.
Spine SP 1001
By Spine Optics
A handmade acetate front with CNC milled aluminium, joined by the SPINE patented hinge.
Inspired by vertebrae, these micro injection metal (MiM) hinges flex to fit any face shape and they hold your glasses firmly in place with a light touch.
The arms automatically close when the glasses are removed.
There are no loose screws here - because there are no screws used in SPINE working mechanics. Accidental impacts are glanced off as SPINE moves in all directions, absorbing and dissipating shocks thus greatly reducing breakage.
